Join Us for a Weekend of 19th Century Base Ball!
The Pelicans are hosting the first-ever vintage base ball festival in San Francisco; featuring teams from across the country playing by 1886 rules.
Connecting ball players from around the nation
The Northern Coast Classic already has a full committed roster of players traveling to participate in the festivities. This vintage base ball festival would not only be the first ever vintage base ball festival in the Bay Area, but would also be the first ever vintage base ball festival to include teams and players spanning from New York to Hawaii. The Pelicans would like to thank all ballists making the trip to San Francisco to celebrate 1886 base ball.
Educating on California base ball in the 1880’s
All base ball enthusiasts are invited and encouraged to attend our free event. During the festival, all “cranks” (fans) can learn about 1886 base ball and experience how this style of play is played in San Francisco, Even our San Francisco based ball clubs are excited to learn how over hand vintage base ball is played throughout the nation.

Coast Classic Victory Bell
Our California Coast Classic series does not have an ultimate champion or trophy. Instead, we have a goodwill “Victory Bell” as a symbol of gentlemanly play and competition. This bell is rung as teams score throughout the festival and it is customary for team captains to pose with the Victory Bell prior to a match.
The Victory Bell was first used in the Central Coast Classic. All cranks are also welcome to pose with the Victory Bell.
Supporting SF FLAME
FYBL baseball league operated with almost 200 teams and over 2500 kids participating each year. The SFYBL is one of the largest youth baseball leagues in the country and is jointly run by FLAME and SF Rec and Park.
